CD Projekt Red and its newly released open-world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is all over the news. The game, announced to be in development for nine years, was released on December 10 and met the unpleasant reception from fans. The game is not only plagued with bugs but also looks and runs atrociously on the base PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
Naturally, the fanbase was absolutely annoyed with the developer. As such, the game got bombarded with negative reviews. Following all the hate that the developer received, it recently issued a statement, apologizing for lying to the fans and delivering an underwhelming product.
In the statement, CDPR claimed that PlayStation users can issue a refund if they are not happy with the game. However, when PS4 players are asking for a refund via the PlayStation Store, they got denied any sort of refund.
A Twitter user shared a screenshot of their conversation with a Sony representative. They asked for a refund on the game, but the representative denied the request. The representative said that the game is set to receive two huge patches, which will improve the experience.
Now, fans are more than annoyed with the ongoing charade. They are likely irritated by both CDPR and Sony, which didn't meet the conditions. It seems that there could be some kind of misunderstanding between the two and that might be causing issues with refunds. This should be resolved soon.
Cyberpunk 2077 was touted as the most detailed RPG that CDPR has ever built. The game features a vast and dense open-world and character customization that goes quite deep. Besides, those who are enjoying the game claim that the game is truly delightful. They even consider it one of the best games that they have played this year. Sadly, base console players couldn't share that experience right now.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
