Free-to-play dungeon crawler Soda Dungeon 2 is slated for release in 2020. The game serves as a sequel to the fresh and fizzy hit mobile RPG adventure Soda Dungeon.
In Soda Dungeon 2, players find themselves fixing a tavern located at the foot of a mysterious dungeon. In order to go into the sprawling dungeon, players need to hire adventurers using the sodas on tap as lures. Once they have a party large enough to raid the dungeon, they can begin searching for loot, picking up gold and legendary items along the way, while also steering clear of the Dark Lord.
Players encounter classic turn-based battles as they raid dungeons, but also have the option to turn on auto-combat, allowing their party to take control. Once players return to the tavern, they can spend their loot on upgrades for the tavern to attract new patrons and unlock new structures in the area, including a blacksmith’s workplace and an arena, among others.
Developer Shawn Tanner said that fans of Soda Dungeon are huge supporters of the sequel and help by giving valuable input. He added that development has made sure to "incorporate the feedback and suggestions from our community to ensure that this sequel remains true to the original while also making sure to add fun new content and features.”
Soda Dungeon 2 is going to offer a variety of new features, which include the ability to craft gear, customize combat commands using Soda Script, earn dungeon progress even while offline, and many more. The sequel puts emphasis on team management, loot grinding, and above all, fair play. Every in-game item is purchased using currency earned just by playing. There are no timers or paywalls. Plus, players can transfer their saved files freely between iOS, Android, and Steam, so you can continue to enjoy the game whenever and wherever you want.
With the launch date set for 2020, Soda Dungeon 2 is now approaching beta and more details are going to be available soon. Meantime, the game can be added on Steam Wishlists in anticipation of the imminent launch.
