So, as I mentioned above, both a baby emoji and a gold star emoji are now a part of Snapchat. According to the GetEmoji Snapchat emoji blog, these are what the latest friends lists emoji mean.

  • If a friend has the baby emoji next to their name, it means they are a new friend.
  • If they have a gold star next to their name, it means they’ve recently had one of their Snapchats replayed by someone else.

What are replays? The latest versions of Snapchat provides the opportunity for users to replay a snap for a period of 24 hours after the first viewing. This can be done by going to Settings (small gear icon located top right) in the Snapchat app and tapping on Additional Services. Then, you tap on the replay option. Once replay is enabled, you simply hold down on the snap you want to replay for a couple seconds. It will ask you if you want to replay it and you can.

So that’s what the gold star on Snapchat is all about. For the rest of the new Snapchat emoji meanings, check them out below.
