There’s a few different ways you can approach these cheats. If you just want an easier way to help your children gain character value, the best way is to simply use the parenting skill cheat. This way, you won’t have to read any parenting books or research for tips online, but you’ll get to see how your children evolve with your direction. You’ll have all the parenting social options available right off the bat, which will help you control your children’s behavior and shape what kind of person they become. Otherwise, if you’re starting from parenting zero, it’s going to be a lot harder to assist their growth.

To start, make sure testing cheats is enabled. Press Control + Shift +C to access command. Enter: testingcheats true or testingcheats on . If you get a message that reads 'cheats enabled,’ then you know you’ve done it right. Don’t forget that after testing cheats are enabled, you can always Shift + Click the selected Sim and access ‘Make Happy,’ which will max out all needs.

Having trouble developing a certain character value trait? Or, want to decrease one of the character values? Use the following cheat to raise or lower the value. The scale is -100 to 100.

Emotional Control: stats.set_stat lifeSkillStatistic_EmotionalControl

These are the outcome of the character value meters, which will basically turn into one of the following traits when the teen ages to a young adult. Use these cheats to play around with the traits. You can even award a trait to an adult that you didn’t age up from a teen. Opposite traits cannot be on at the same time. For example, you can’t have good manners and bad manners. You’ll need to use traits.remove_trait to get rid of one first.

Good Manners: traits.equip_trait GoodManners
Bad Manners: traits.equip_trait BadManners
Responsible: traits.equip_trait LifeSkills_Responsible
Irresponsible: traits.equip_trait Irresponsible
Mediator: traits.equip_trait Mediator
Argumentative: traits.equip_trait Argumentative
Compassionate: traits.equip_trait Compassionate

Emotional Control: traits.equip_trait EmotionalControl

These are treated as temporary phases in the code and two conflicting traits can’t be activated at once. If the cheat isn’t working, you probably need to traits.remove_trait first. Some phases are exclusive to children or teens. There’s different levels to picky eater, which get progressively worse alphabetically.
