Be eco-friendly. EA

It’s time to go green and live a more sustainable lifestyle as The Sims 4 introduces its latest expansion pack with Eco Lifestyle. With this newest addition, your Sims can now get together with the community in order to change the neighborhood for the better and start making a difference in the world. This upcoming expansion pack is set to be released on June 5 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The Eco Lifestyle pack introduces players to Evergreen Harbor. This is a new world where every decision your Sims make have a direct impact on the state of the environment. For example, Sims can choose to produce their own water and electricity through the use of dew collectors, wind turbines, and solar panels. They can even develop a vertical garden and grow their own food. Inside their homes, Sims can redecorate using remade furniture. They can also dress in clothes that are made from reclaimed materials. Those feeling a bit bold can even go for some dumpster diving and collect pre-used objects to be repurposed and placed in their homes.

In a press release, Eco Lifestyle Producer George Pigula said that they are more than happy to give players the chance to discover living in an eco-friendly manner. He went on to say that players can play with life in new and different ways by “discovering and practicing sustainable habits, like using solar panels or wind turbines to power their electricity, or upcycling materials to create new furniture.”

So what else does this new expansion pack offer? Well, there’s the new Community Voting Board. This is a way for Sims to implement positive changes in their neighborhood. Each week the board is going to have Neighborhood Action Plans like supporting green initiatives, helping install eco-friendly objects, and even gathering people to set up a community space. Sims can also take on new careers like Freelance Crafter or Civil Designer.

Players who decide to stay with the status quo are likely to see junk gather on their property while the levels of air pollution rise. However, it shouldn’t reach that point, as Sims can always pick up trash or even cultivate their own healthy garden. Sims can even build using eco-friendly materials. If they do that, players get to see the world become cleaner, with muddy waters becoming clearer or the aurora borealis appearing in the sky.

With this new expansion pack, players should have the chance to learn more about what it means to have a sustainable lifestyle.

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack has been given by the ESRB a rating of T for Teen and will be available for $39.99.
