Sea of Thieves, Rare’s pirate adventure game, is finally going to include dogs in its latest September update. The best part is that you can even pet them and take them on your boat while you set sail. Like other pets, you will also be able to interact with your dog and some of the interactions include:

  • Pets being launched out of cannons.
  • Pets dancing to any shanties played with the instruments
  • Pets reacting to most of the emotes such as sleeping, dancing, introducing, and cheering.
  • Pets running away in the proximity of skeletons, fights, gunshots, lightning, and crashes
  • Pets reacting to the ship’s bell, which you can interact with
  • Pets running away from fire

“Woof woof! Just announced at #gamescom2020, good boys and girls of various breeds will be able to join you on the Sea of Thieves for scritches and hugs with our next content update!” Sea of Thieves tweeted. “Please act surprised.” If you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can play Sea of Thieves for free as long as your membership lasts.

The upcoming September update will also bring in a new type of gold hoarder voyage which can be purchased from NPCs at any outpost. The voyage will have riddle maps which lead you to the pirate booty. Unfortunately, some of the riddles have bugged out on voyage quests in the past. If Rare is able to fix these small bugs, the game is super entertaining to play. More information on the new voyage mode will be released before the September update.

Sea of Thieves is available to purchase on Xbox One and PC.

So, what are your thoughts on the new content Rare is implementing for the September update? Do you think the new updates will bring more players into the community? Personally, I think it’s going to be a fun update and the new content will make the game less repetitive. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
