Rumors already suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S7 may have a high battery capacity and may also support long periods of video playback. Furthering the rumor is a twitter report from Eldar Murtazin, who claims the Galaxy S7 may support an overall 2-day battery life with moderate use.

“The new generation of Samsung are working very long and well (brightness 75 %), lte always ( 3gb ) and two SIM cards,” Murtazin said in his tweet, which is translated from his native Russian. The tech informant’s tweet also includes details that negate some prospective rumors for the Galaxy S7.

According to Murtazin, the Samsung device, which pundits are assuming is the Galaxy S7, features 3GB of RAM. However, most rumors about the device have suggested the Galaxy S7 would include 4GB of RAM, a 1GB upgrade from the Galaxy S6. In 2016, consumers saw Samsung bump the Galaxy Note line from 3GB of RAM to 4GB in 2015. But a super high RAM capacity is commonplace for Samsung’s larger high-end smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ also sports 4GB of RAM.

Murtazin also claimed in January that the Galaxy S7 would feature a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S7 Edge would feature a 3,600mAh cell. Consumers heavily criticized the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge after they launched in 2015 with respective 2,500mAh and 2600mAh battery capacities and no removable back panel, which would allow users to add higher capacity batteries at their discretion. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge suffered from abysmal battery life of less than a full day for many users, which is quite atypical of Samsung devices.

This year’s devices are expected to maintain the same unibody design seen on the Galaxy S6; however, a major battery bump like the one suggested would significantly improve the battery life on the Galaxy. Some rumors still suggest the S7 may feature a small battery of the same capacity as the Galaxy S6. At this time, no hardware claims for the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge have been confirmed.

Samsung is hosting an Unpacked event Feb. 21 in Barcelona, where the 2016 flagships are expected to be unveiled.
