Roller Champions is giving interested players a chance to be one of the first to try out the game with its Closed Alpha. The Roller Champions closed alpha is going to be available for the PC through Uplay and runs from March 11 until March 23. Those who do manage to get in on the action have the chance to not only try out new mechanics, but also earn an in-game reward that can be used even when the game is officially launched.

As one might guess based on the title, Roller Champions offers players some skating action while needing to pass, dodge, tackle, and even shoot. This team-based game brings fast-paced action and exciting matches.

Closed alpha players get the chance to try out the biggest playable arena to data: the Chichén Itzá arena. There are also new moves to experiment with, like the impactful extended tackle and air tackle. Other moves that players can pull off include the grapple boost, grapple double jump, and grapple double pump, among others.

Character customization is also going to be available in the closed alpha, with more than 70 items available to enhance your Roller Champions character's hair, clothes, gloves, or helmet.

Roller Champions was first announced by Ubisoft at last year's E3. Along with the announcement was a pre-alpha demo that was accessible for only five days. Roller Champions is a 3v3 multiplayer sports game. Using a third-person perspective, two teams compete to earn five points in seven minutes by throwing a ball into a goal. In order for a score to count, a player must have possession of the ball and be able to skate at least one lap without being interrupted by any member of the other team. The more laps completed, the more points earned. However, if at any point a players is stopped by the other team, any progress is lost. Teams that win matches gain more followers, which lets them take part in matches that have larger crowds.

The game is being developed by Ubisoft for the PC with a scheduled release coming sometime later this year. Roller Champions is also going to be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile platforms.
