Rocket League released update 1.70, which introduces new things to the game such as Item Archiving and the Item Store. The update also marks the end of the Competitive Season 12 and the beginning of a new competitive season.

The new Item Archiving feature is particularly good for players who no longer wish to view certain items in their inventory.

To archive an item, simply go to the Manage Inventory screen and then highlight the item. After that, click the left stick (controller) or click the box icon in the upper-right corner of the item thumbnail (mouse). Once a player archives at least one item, the "Archived Items" tab is then going to be added to the Manage Inventory screen. To remove an item from the archive, look for it under ‘Archived Items,’ then click the left stick (controller) or click the box icon in the upper-right corner of the item thumbnail (mouse). The item then reappears under the appropriate tab.

The end of Season 12 also means that Competitive Season 13 is here. Season 13 brings a “soft reset” that requires players to play in placement matches for each playlist to recalibrate their Rank. Winning half of the placement matches will land players near their previous season ranking.

League Rankings, meanwhile, are going to be temporarily empty until players complete their placement matches. All placement match wins count towards the Bronze Season Reward Level progress.

With the start of Season 13, Rocket League has adjusted how Party MMR works for Competitive Playlists. A Party's MMR is now going to be weighted closer to the MMR of the highest Ranked player in the group than in previous seasons.
