Few would argue that Rocket League was one of the biggest success stories of 2015, dominating the public discourse for weeks after launch despite getting relatively little promotion prior to its PC and PS4 debut. Now, Psyonix has revealed an absolutely staggering revenue figure for its second “soccer with cars” game; one that should permanently dispel the notion that PlayStation Plus isn’t a valid launch strategy for projects unlikely to find an audience via traditional promotion.

According to a new report from Forbes , Rocket League has already raised more than $110 million in revenue for developer Psyonix. The lion’s share of that cash comes from game sales, with more than 5 million copies purchased on PS4, Xbox One and PC (combined), but Psyonix says they’ve also cleared more than 5 million DLC downloads, too. More than 15 million people have played Rocket League since the game emerged last summer and its Steam/Xbox One communities are still growing steadily. That’s a pretty solid performance for a game that was likely downloaded a few million times during its stint on PlayStation Plus, huh?

In other Rocket League news, we finally have a timeline for the Dying Light crossover content we were promised back in March . There’s still no word on an exact date for the free Rocket League DLC, which is comprised of two new cosmetic items, but an update on the RL website confirms a new antenna topper and Dying Light flag are coming to Rocket League before the end of June.
