A Robot Named Fight! released a free update, introducing a new four-player co-op mode. In this mode, one player gets to play as Fight with the remaining three players joining as orbs. This comes just as the game recently introduced the large Big Wet Update.

It's not just about the new co-op mode, as an upcoming sale is on the horizon. Specifically, A Robot Named Fight! is being put on sale for $1.99. The sale is available:

  • Nintendo Switch: July 11 - July 25
  • Steam for PC: July 15 - July 25

Released in September 2017, the game is a Metroidvania roguelike focused on exploration and item collection. Players take on the role of a lone robot tasked with stopping the entity known as the Megabeast. Players get to explore procedurally-generated labyrinths, uncover randomized power-ups and artifacts, find secrets, and blast meaty creatures.

The story follows a world where millennia of peace have passed since the mechanical gods ascended and left the lower order robots to cultivate the world. However, for those left behind, something forgotten and terrible stirs amidst the stars. Megabeast, a pulsating moon-sized orb of flesh, eyes, mouths and reproductive organs, has unleashed its children onto the world like an unstoppable plague.

Features of the game include:

  • Explore a procedurally-generated labyrinth with more than four billion unique runs.
  • Prove your worth with true permadeath.
  • Take on over 60 menacing enemies solo or with a friend via local co-op.
  • Adapt to a different item set every run with more than 80 unique items.
  • Complete achievements to unlock new content.
  • Play using your favorite controller.
  • Enjoy an unreasonable amount of meat!

Along with the new mode, A Robot Named Fight also released an update which introduces some bug fixes, balance changes, and revised rooms. Other changes include:

  • New Coolant Sewers Deathmatch map
  • All Coolant Sewers Shops have new BG Palette
  • Inactive teleporters provide dim light
  • Input on non-Player 1 controllers brings up "Join Game" prompt

Meanwhile the Big Wet Update was released back in May, which introduced:

  • New Area, Bosses, and Enemies
  • New Items, Synergies, and Achievements
  • Revised Map Generation
