Respawn Will Decide if They Want to Make Titanfall 3, Claims EA CSO

It is tough being a Titanfall fan. Even though the last entry in the two-game franchise received critical reception from fans and critics alike, the chances of us getting another mainline Titanfall game is slim. Titanfall 2 was released back in 2016 and it failed to meet EA’s sales expectation. Honestly, it was their own fault releasing the game between two behemoth titles, Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.

There is still some hope though. Laura Miele, EA Chief Studios Officer, recently gave an interview to talk about developers' creative freedom and the future of the Titanfall franchise. Miele said that EA doesn’t believe in telling developers what to make. She further claimed that it is Respawn Entertainment's decision if they want to create another Titanfall game, but EA still has a final say in it.

While this may not be a confirmation of Titanfall 3 as some fans are desperately waiting for, it’s yet welcome news.

Apex takes place in the Titanfall world and the Respawn team is incredibly proud of that legacy and brand,” she said to IGN. “That team will determine what the future holds for Apex and Titanfall.”

There have been multiple rumors that suggest the development of Titanfall 3. However, the developer has denied such rumors time and time again. I do want another game in the franchise, though I won’t hold my breath. Respawn is currently busy with the sequel of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and is also supporting Apex Legends with post-launch content.

Meanwhile, fans can try out Apex Legends, which is a battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe. While it may not have wall-running or Titans, it is still a great game that expands upon the TF lore. A new season was also released last month that added a new legend.

So what do you think? Do you want another mainline Titanfall game? Or do you want them to create a new IP? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
