A new leak discovered via a GameStop listing has seemingly confirmed that "Resident Evil Requiem" will get a second playable character in the game and not just a cameo of a returning familiar face in the franchise.
'Resident Evil Requiem' Leak Unveils 2nd Playable Character
A post on Reddit by a user called u/Hot-Challenge-2755 shared the recent listing from GameStop, which seemed to have leaked that there would be a second playable character coming to "Resident Evil Requiem."
The leak focuses on the Deluxe Edition version for the PC's Steam version, featuring a steel book case, a Steam digital code, an expansion pass, cosmetics and costumes, a digital artbook, and an official soundtrack.
However, while this sounds like what a normal listing of a Deluxe Edition, it made mention of a specific character speculated to be a playable one in the upcoming mainline game.
The Deluxe Edition offers special goodies and additional cosmetics for Rosemary Winters, who is the daughter of "Resident Evil VIII's" main character, Ethan Winters.
The GameStop listing includes the following for the Deluxe Edition:

For now, it is not yet confirmed what exact role Rose will play in the upcoming "Resident Evil Requiem," especially as the character seems to be tied to the game's expansion pass and could be for a specific mode only.
Will There Be Two Protagonists in the Game?
It could be possible that Rose would only appear in specific parts of the story where there could be point-of-view switching between both her and Grace Ashcroft as they complete several missions integral to the story.
That said, they could possibly be a duo in the game to solve the mystery surrounding the new horrors that lie within Raccoon City, delivering a femme fatale partnership between two strong characters.
Rose was previously speculated as the main character of this next mainline game, long before "Resident Evil Requiem" was announced.
Many expected the second playable character to be Leon S. Kennedy, one of the most iconic main characters in the franchise. However, it is possible that Leon would play a smaller role or only appear as a cameo in the upcoming title.
