Resident Evil BLOODYDISGUSTING

This is the perfect time to be a Resident Evil fan. Along with the RE movie series is getting a reboot, we are also getting an eight-episode long TV series. New details have been leaked about a Resident Evil TV series by none other than Netflix themselves. The company revealed the plot details of their upcoming RE show on their own press site. As mentioned above, the show will consist of eight episodes and will take place in a time that has not been covered by RE media before. The updated description was quickly deleted by Netflix, but nothing on the internet is ever really gone. You can read the description on the Wayback Machine or check the tweet below from the Resident Evil Wiki account.

“The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C,” the description reads. “Today, 26 years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.”

Everyone familiar with the Resident Evil universe knows about the Umbrella Corporation. However, Greenwood Asylum and Clearfield are brand new locations. This means that the show will not be an adaption of previous movies or games, but will tell an original story. It is mentioned that the show takes place 27 years after the discovery of the T-Virus. The T-Virus was developed in the late 1960s, which means the show will be in the early 1990s. This is important news because Resident Evil Zero, which was the first canonical entry in the franchise, was set in 1998. The new Netflix show could be a prequel to the entire video game series and tells a story that predates every game in the franchise.

So what do you think? Are you interested in the Netflix adaption of Resident Evil? Would you rather the show focus on a game or movie instead of an original idea? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
