'Call of Duty' Adds Free 'Black Ops Royale' Game Mode—Here's What to Expect

A new battle royale game mode is coming to 'Call of Duty.'

"Call of Duty" is introducing another battle royale experience to the game with the new "Black Ops Royale," and it delivers a free game mode for players to enjoy, which will be dropping later this month.

Despite "Warzone" already delivering a battle royale-esque mode in the game, "Black Ops Royale" will be a different experience, according to Activision Blizzard, with this leaning more into the traditional BR experience.

'Call of Duty' Adds Free 'Black Ops Royale' Game Mode

"Call of Duty" announced the upcoming arrival of a new free-to-play game mode called "Black Ops Royale" that is set to introduce a more battle royale-focused experience to the game.

The new game mode is inspired by "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's" Blackout, a game mode that is also a battle royale type of experience. The main focus of the "Black Ops Royale" is to have players scavenge for weapons, supplies, and more across the map, all while besting opponents and surviving the map called Avalon.

According to "Call of Duty," the new game mode will focus on "Black Ops 7's" content, featuring its weapons, attachments, and more. Players are thrust into the map to scavenge and upgrade their weapons to get the best chance against other operators in the match.

What to Expect from 'Black Ops Royale'?

"Call of Duty" is currently preparing to release "Black Ops Royale" to the game, with the free game mode arriving by March 13 for all to access.

Each match will feature 100 players to fight for the top spot, and they will be divided into teams of four. This will be a mandatory setup for the game.

Unlike "Warzone," the new "Black Ops Royale" will have no loadouts, the Gulag, or Buy Stations, which means players will have no additional advantage from the game.

That said, the new game mode will deliver familiar "Blackout" features like bullet drop, weapon handling, and more.
