It looks like fans of Recipe for Disaster have something to be happy about. This restaurant management sim is finally leaving early access and is scheduled for a full release this August 5.
It’s a fun but challenging take on the restaurant tycoon genre by showing just how hectic and stress-inducing the food-service industry really is. In the game, players need to experiment with different ingredients to come up with exciting food menus and satisfy the rather peculiar tastes of customers.
Players can also construct their own restaurant from the ground up and use the in-game recipe editor. They have the choice to recreate classic dishes or maybe just have fun and come up with something that’s “inspiring.”
However, if we’ve learned anything from reality TV shows like Kitchen Nightmares, managing a restaurant is never easy. There are the usual issues with inventory and cleanliness but players have to be ready for more, like rat infestations, fires, and overflowing toilets. Watch out for those demanding VIP guests as well, and contend with staff personalities.

Speaking of staff, players get to pick from a pool of hopefuls. The key is to create a unique combination of traits and skill levels of each individual and see how it affects behavior, work efficiencies, and even customer interactions.
To minimize the risk of breakdowns or mid-service walkouts, it’s important to manage the mood and stamina levels of the team. It’s all about balance since some staff are bound to love the tasks assigned to them while others are sure to hate them.
