Rainbow Six Siege’s Y5S2.3 update has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. The patch was supposed to go live at 9:00 AM EST on July 28, but the update will now go live at 9:00 AM EST on July 29 instead. While the reason for the delay is unknown, it might be to ensure some more fixes for general issues with the game and reinforce the ban waves. The estimated downtime is only 20 minutes and you will be able to hop back into the game after the downtime.

The patch is going to bring quite a few changes to the game. The most anticipated change is the addition of two step verification for the APAC region. If you don’t have the two step verification enabled, you won’t be able to play ranked matches once the update is live. This will restrict cheaters from making multiple accounts and abusing smurfs, as they have to enable the verification through their phones. You can activate two step verification under the account management section on this site. The recent ban waves have rid Siege of a lot of cheaters. Many players have been either gaining 300+MMR or losing more than 300 MMR, due to the amount of cheaters in various regions.

The new update will also include changes for operators such as Fuze, Gridlock, and Oryx. Fuze will get an extra cluster charge, which can be very useful in clearing defender utilities. Gridlock will receive some buffs to her gadgets in terms of deployment time. The overall deployment time for the Caltrops have been lowered from 13 seconds to nine seconds and the individual Caltrops deployment time has also lowered to 0.45 seconds. Oryx’s dash won’t deplete all charges when he dashes through soft walls and the dash refresh time is increased to 12 seconds. Now, Oryx won’t be able to spam his ability.

So, what are your thoughts on the new update for Rainbow Six Siege? Do you think you will start playing Fuze with his new changes? Personally, I would love it if Ubisoft could fix the cheating and net code issues, so the game would be more fun to play. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
