Rainbow Six Siege's APAC North Mini Major just concluded its quarterfinals and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. APAC North Mini Major had some really amazing matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. The most surprising thing that happened this week is that we got to see Xavier dominating FAV gaming on two maps, which was really impressive as both teams frag equally well.

The best matchup for the quarterfinals was between Xavier Esports and FAV gaming. The first map was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a strategy-heavy map. The score went 7-3 in the favor of Xavier, with Atibordee "scatman" Noichan carrying his team with 12 kills playing operators such as Echo and Hibana. The second map, Oregon, was decent for FAV, but they weren’t able to contain Xavier. Xavier took the second map with a 7-5 score and proved that they are the better contenders. Both the matches taught us how the APAC region's strategy relies a lot around frags. This match might have been the most anticipated match for the viewers at home.

The final match between Cyclops and GUTS Gaming was also a decent match to watch. The first map was played on Villa, which went into overtime and led to an 8-6 victory for Cyclops. While neither team showed any impressive strategies, Cyclops was able to out-frag their opponents. The second map went 7-4 on Coastline, and it was an interesting match to watch. Cyclops was able to win all their gunfights and Reon “Anitun” Sakai was able to win out multiple rounds by making impressive plays. In one of the rounds, Anitun was able to run out and kill two players while returning to the building to get the third frag and then win out a 1v2 clutch. You can find the clips in his Twitter post.

Since Giants Gaming and Cloud9 qualified in the previous North division matchup, they will be facing the winners of these quarterfinals. For more coverage on APAC North Mini Major, you can watch all the streams on Twitch or YouTube.
