The upcoming new season of Rainbow Six Siege, Operation High Calibre, will bring some big changes. The new season changes how cameras work outside, buffs Finka, and brings a brand-new HUD.

It also brings a new operator and map rework. To know more, check out our previous article. Now, let’s get to it.

Outside Camera Nerf

Previously, defenders could throw their cams outside the building. This gave them information about what attackers were up to before they even got into the building. Well, you can’t do that anymore.

From now on, Valkyrie Cams, Maestro’s Evil Eye, and Bullet Proof Cams will lose connection after ten seconds when they are outside the building. You can still get info for the first 10 seconds, but they are pretty much useless after that. So, better use them inside the building.

This change is a major nerf for Valkyrie. Many Valk mains rely on these cams to make jump-outs. Running out without intel is a risky gambit. The outside camera change is also a small nerf for Maestro. There are still areas where you can place Evil Eye outside and get some good info and even destroy some attackers' gadgets. Now, all defenders' gadgets must be inside the building.

Finka Buff

Finka players have been asking for this buff for years. When the season launches, Finka players can use the health boost to pick themselves up when she’s in a DBNO state, just like Doc.

The recoil reduction that the boost caused will also be removed. This might look like a nerf, but trust me, it’s a buff. The recoil change when you are in a gunfight can often result in a loss.

New HUD

The years-old Siege HUD is being replaced. The upcoming season will rework the entire HUD to make it look more futuristic and relay more details. However, fans’ reception has not been very positive, especially the massive compass in the middle of the screen.

So what do you think? Are you interested in any of these changes? Are there any other suggestions you have for the developer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
