Overall, Rainbow Six Siege players have been really happy about the latest Skyscraper map that arrived with the Operation Red Crow update. The wide map offers pretty architecture, bright spaces, and a layout that offers both flow and quick engagement. However, a horrible map glitch stands to ruin a favorite for many players.

I played defense at Skyscraper in multiplayer casual earlier this week and my team was tasked to protect bomb sites located at kitchen and barbecue room. We won the round pretty convincingly and one of the players on my team racked up a really good amount of kills. However, I didn't realize what he was doing until I saw the killcam of the match's last kill – my teammate glitched through the stairs and easily picked off enemies that came from the BBQ window.

This Rainbow Six Siege Skyscraper stair glitch is pretty clever. The stairs are effectively located just outside of the BBQ room door and to the right of the Kitchen door. There's no way the opposing team could know where they're getting shot from and even if they did, it looks like my teammate is camping at an impenetrable area outside of the "known" map. However, while both attackers and defenders alike can utilize this glitch, the tactic is definitely better suited for defenders of kitchen or BBQ as it looks like you will not be able to exit beneath the stair glitch once you're inside.

While our team won, there's no question that the glitch breaks the game and completely takes the fun out of the Skyscraper map. I won't share how the glitch is performed, but one could make a quick search on YouTube to find out themselves. Apparently, there are other similar glitches located at other maps as well. However, the Skyscraper stairs glitch is unique in that there's a lot more real estate to move around and position yourself. In fact, one YouTuber that demonstrated this glitch managed to set up Tachanka's turret inside the glitch space.

Hopefully the Rainbow Six Siege team at Ubisoft is aware of this glitch and will address it in the next patch, whenever that may be. In the meantime, I can only hope players that exploit this glitch get banned.

Finally, the Siege 6 Invitational tournament is slated to begin Feb. 3 for three days of pro-competitive play. What's more, Ubisoft will also hold a panel that is expected to introduce more details regarding the next Rainbow Six Siege update, Operation Velvet Shell. Stay tuned as we learn more in the days ahead. In the meantime, check out the new Velvet Shell 'Coastline' map and Jackal operator.
