Rainbow Six Siege Y5S2 Operation Steel Wave is now live. After spending weeks in the Test Server, the new Season has been moved to the live build. The update is not very big, and players will only need to download 7 to 9GB of data, depending on the platform.

The update adds two new operators, Ace and Melusi. Ace is a Norwegian Attacker who acts as a fourth hard breacher in the game. He is a two-speed two-armor operator and uses the AK-12 Assault Rifle and M1014 Shotgun as his primary weapons. He only has one secondary weapon, and that is a P9 Pistol. He also has access to either breaching charges or smoke grenades. Ace will act as a substitute for Thermite or Hibana.

Melusi is a three-speed one-armor roamer who has access to Banshee sonic defense. Her gadget will slow down enemies when they are in its radius. It also emits a sound that will let Defenders know the position of the Attacker. She has access to the T-5 SMG and Super 90 Shotgun. Her secondary weapon is the RG15 Pistol and her secondary gadgets include impact grenades and the deployable shield.

The new Season is not just about the new content. We are also getting the very first rework of a casual map, House. The t-hunt go-to map for many players will become slightly larger, but the rework is not as extensive as Themepark's. Speaking of reworks, one of the most useless Attackers, Amaru, has also been heavily tweaked. Her Gara Hook will not break a barricaded window at the start. The windows will only break when she goes through them now. She also doesn’t have to break the hatch in order to go up.

That’s not all, as there are tons more changes in the new season. We have a new secondary gadget called proximity mine which will give audio queues whenever an enemy is nearby. Echo is also getting an Elite skin. Unified MMR is being introduced, which means there is no reason for switching servers. Finally, the price tags for older Operators have been reduced.

So what do you think? Are you excited about the new season? Do you like Ace or Melusi? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
