PUBG Continental Series is one of the most important tournaments of the PGC 2022 season. That's because it's one of the last major events for teams to get that much-needed PUBG Global Championship Qualification Points. In addition, the champion gets a spot for the Global Championship. For this year, the Open Qualifiers for PCS7 Americas start on August 10.

This entire event is divided into four stages: Open Qualifier, Regional Playoff, Last Chance Qualifier, and the Grand Final.

Open Qualifier

The Open Qualifier is held separately for each sub-region of NA and LATAM. There's a total of three rounds and each round lasts for two days with six matches played each day. At the end of three rounds, the top eight teams of each sub-region will move on to their respective Regional Playoff.

Dates for the Open Qualifier are:

  • Round 1 – August 10 and August 11
    • In case there are more than 80 teams:
      • Round 1A – August 10
      • Round 1B – August 11
  • Round 2 – August 13 and August 14
  • Round 3 – August 16 and August 17

Regional Playoff

Things start to get better for those able to join the Regional Playoff. That's because, in this part of the event, there's a $25,000 prize pool.

The eight teams from the Open Qualifiers are joined by 16 teams that have been invited based on their performance at ESL PUBG Masters 2022 Phase 2. The 24 teams taking part in the Regional Playoff for each sub-region are going to be divided into three groups of eight. Each group plays the others for a six-match day.

Dates for Regional Playoffs are:

  • Match Day 1
    • Group A vs. Group B
    • August 19
  • Match Day 2
    • Group B vs. Group C
    • August 20
  • Match Day 3
    • Group C vs. Group A
    • August 21

After the Regional Playoff, the top six teams from each sub-region proceed to the Grand Final. The next best eight teams are given the chance to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier and the rest are eliminated.

Last Chance Qualifier

Just in case you haven't been keeping count, there should be 16 teams at this stage of the event. The Last Chance Qualifier also offers a prize pool of $20,000.

There are two days of six matches each, and the top four teams, determined through the SUPER Point Rule scoring system, move to the Grand Final.

Dates for Last Chance Qualifier:

  • Match Day 1
    • August 27
  • Match Day 2
    • August 28

Grand Final

Once all of those are done, the 16 teams enter the Grand Final. To recap, these teams are coming from:

  • Regional Playoff (NA): 6 teams
  • Regional Playoff (LATAM): 6 teams
  • Last Chance Qualifier: 4 teams

A total of 30 matches are spread across six days; the prize pool for this event is $250,000. More details on this stage are to be revealed at a later date.
