In most multiplayer games, being a noob or newbie is a disadvantage. But a new event in PUBG: Battlegrounds starting today can make things more enjoyable for everyone. "Save the Newbies" not only makes things fun for newbies but allows them to learn as well.
From April 21 to May 10, newbies can join the event and enjoy rewards. Veterans or experts can join as well to share their experiences and teach new players, and get rewards in return.
Eligible Newbies
To be considered a newbie for this event, players need to have their first PUBG account created after January 12. Returning players are also eligible as long as they accessed their PUBG account on January 12, after not accessing it for more than 6 months.
Players having a Survival Mastery level higher than 1 and lower than 80, as of April 21, are considered newbies as well. However, it won’t apply to those who don’t have a match history since the release of the Survival Mastery system.
Finally, players whose PUBG accounts have not been accessed for more than six months as of April 21, and need to complete the Tutorial.
Once they meet any of those criteria, newbies will:
- Receive their Survivor-in-Training Hoodie.
- Need to make a Kill or Assist in a Normal or Casual Mode match with a fellow newbie or an expert as a Duo or Squad, or even as Solo.
- If played as a team, every member of the team receives a Nickel G-Coin Box.
- Need to win a Normal or Casual Mode match for the first time during the campaign period with a fellow Newbie or an expert as a Duo or Squad, or even as Solo.
- If won as a team, every member of the team receives another Nickel G-Coin Box.
The Experts
Experts who want to join the event need to:
- Search and team up with a newbie (who received the Survivor-in-Training Hoodie) either by using the Team Finder, the official PUBG Discord channels, or random matching.
- Play a Normal or Casual Mode match as a Duo or Squad and help the newbie make a Kill or Assist.
- Every member of the team receives a Nickel G-Coin Box.
- Team up with a newbie and win a Normal or Casual Mode match during the campaign period.
- Every member of the team receives another Nickel G-Coin Box.
