PUBG: Battlegrounds to Introduce 1v1 Arena in Training Mode

Start practicing.
Start practicing. Krafton

There’s no question that jumping head first into a battle royale is difficult for many players. The good news is that a new mode is arriving in PUBG: Battlegrounds to solve that.

The 1v1 Arena in Training Mode will welcome all types of combat practice in a 1v1 setting. Players can go through 1v1 rounds with an opposing player or spectate intense battles. It may not be much, but it’s a good start especially for those who want to practice their skills.

This new mode comes to the game courtesy of Update 17.2, launching May 11 on PC and May 19 on consoles.

Spotter Scope Update

Previous updates offered a hint of changes coming to the Spotter Scope. The development team had said that this item’s automatic features of marking and following enemies remain strong to the point that it was causing stress instead of enjoyment to players.

With Update 17.2, the enemy detection range will be lowered to 600 meters from 1,000 meters. Meanwhile, the white passive marker isn’t going to appear automatically in ADS mode.

Weapon Balancing

It goes without saying that there will be another round of weapon balancing. This time it’s for the MK12 and Mini14.

For the MK12, it seems players have found it rather challenging to handle. As a result, the recoil recovery value has been improved to be in line with the stability of the Mini14. Speaking of the Mini14, its damage is going to be increased from 47 to 48.

Changes are coming as well to the Taego-only Mortar weapon. The Mortar can now be deployed on any terrain, except when the weapon’s deploy angle is not secured or on water. It’s going to be available on all maps, except Haven, in Normal matches and will take up the inventory slot.

Giant Yellow Thing

When the update goes live, don’t worry if you see a giant floating rubber duck in the lake at the middle island of Sanhok. It’s a map decoration and nothing will happen even if you attack it. It is there as part of the collaboration with B.Duck.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Android, and iOS.
