Predator: Hunting Grounds is scheduled to launch in April, but you can get your chance at trying this asymmetric marine vs Predator shooter a month early. The game is launching a free trial, although we aren't sure whether you'll be able to experience all features of the game, or if it will be limited to hype up the community. Additionally, the trial will also allow PC and PS4 players to play together.
When it was announced, Predator: Hunting Grounds was a PS4 exclusive, but a PC version was announced shortly after. If you haven't heard about the game yet, check out this cool trailer:
Wccftech's interview with the game's art director Trammel Ray Isaac gave us additional information on what we can expect from Predator: Hunting Grounds. Let's check out some of the meaty stuff about the game.
To kick things off, Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter set in various jungles around the world. Marines join in a group of four and play as an elite squad Fireteam. The goal is to complete specific operations before the Predator finds you. Alternatively, you can also play as a Predator, who is equipped with a vast array of superhuman tech to hunt down his human prey.
The game is also set in a world that will feel similar to the lore of the Predator universe. Set in lush jungles where a Predator could be hiding in any tree or under any rock, a marine has to be tactical with his approach when completing objectives. Speaking of the Predator universe, the game will feature the signature Predator theme song, light-bending cloaking, and the iconic thermal Predator vision.
Since two separate forces fight each other, marines will have their own arsenal of weapons, which include pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, heavy weapons, and grenades. Predators will be equipped with deadly alien tech including a shoulder-mounted Plasma Caster, Combistick, Wrist Blades, and Smart Disc, among others.
If you're excited for Predator: Hunting Grounds, you can get your hands on the demo starting on March 27 at 8 p.m. ET. The free trial will run until March 29 at midnight ET. If you are playing it on your PS4, Predator: Hunting Grounds also requires a PS Plus subscription.
You can get the full release of Predator: Hunting Grounds for PC (via Epic Games Store) and PS4 on April 24.
