Good news Pokémon fans! Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available on Nintendo Switch. It offers a new adventure filled with mystery and discovery in the Hisui region, which isn't a new area but the old name of the Sinnoh region. There was a time when it was considered rare for both humans and Pokémon to live in close harmony. In the game, players go on an adventure to complete the first Pokédex of the region.
To do this, players begin the journey as a member of the Galaxy Expedition Team. They stay in Jubilife Village, a settlement also serving as the team's base of operations. Once they get a request or assignment, players need to get out of the village and then study one of the areas in the region. After the survey work has been done, players return to the village and prepare for the next task to arrive.
Basic Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty straightforward:
- Seek Out Pokémon
- Pokémon live freely in all kinds of places.
- There are some Pokémon that can only be seen with the right conditions.
- Observe Pokémon to Learn Their Dispositions
- Wild Pokémon react to players in different ways depending on the species.
- Some immediately attack players while others run away fast.
- Players need to come up with a strategy to successfully catch Pokémon.
- Weaken Pokémon in Battle to Catch Them
- Battles are an important step when it comes to catching Pokémon.
- Wild Pokémon become easier to catch after they’ve been weakened in a battle.
- Carefully Aim and Throw a Poké Ball
- Players can catch wild Pokémon by throwing Poké Balls at them.
- Remember to aim carefully at the target and hit it with the ball.
Special Bonuses
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is offering a special bonus for those who have player records from other Pokémon games. These are:
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl
- Take on a research request for a chance to add the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai to the team.
- Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield
- Take on a research request for a chance to add the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin (Land Forme) to the team.
- Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
