Pokémon GO Invites Everyone to Celebrate Year of the Ox

It’s time to celebrate the new year, well the Lunar New Year. In line with this upcoming event, Pokémon GO trainers get to meet different red Pokémon. There’s also going to be a Timed Research that features, obviously, Tauros. The event starts February 9 and lasts until February 14.

    • Miltank

  • Trainers lucky enough can encounter Gyarados in the wild and maybe even a red Shiny Gyarados.
  • Event-exclusive Field Research tasks reward encounters with:

  • Pokémon representing animals associated with Lunar New Year hatch from five-kilometer Eggs:

Other February Events

Once the Lunar Year Event ends, Trainers can then join the Valentine’s Day Event, which starts February 14 until February 18. Trainers can look forward to seeing some new Pokémon make their debut in the game. There are also exclusive avatar items set to be released.

Before that, the GO Battle League is celebrating Valentine’s Day with the Love Cup from February 8 to February 15. In this one, Trainers need to form a team with red or pink Pokémon with a max CP of 1,500. It’s also a good time to fight since Legendary and Mythical Pokémon aren’t allowed.
