A golden opportunity arrives later this week. Niantic

A special Research Day is coming to Pokémon GO and it's worth is more than its weight in gold. All trainers are invited to the Searching for Gold Research Day this Saturday, June 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., local time.

This upcoming event features these bonuses:

  • PokéStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module.
  • Roaming Form Gimmighoul won't appear at Golden PokéStops if a Golden Lure Module wasn't used.
  • Treasure-hunting trainers may still find Gimmighoul Coins when they spin the PokéStop.

There are also event-themed Field Research tasks when trainers spin Photo Discs at PokéStops. Those able to complete them will encounter:

  • Caterpie
  • Magikarp
  • Nosepass
  • Sableye
  • Barboach

In addition to those tasks, trainers can also encounter these Pokémon as they appear more frequently in the wild:

  • Weedle
  • Bellsprout
  • Poochyena
  • Buizel
  • Tympole
  • Shelmet
  • Stufful

Trainers who are lucky could encounter Lickitung or Azumarill.

Timed Research

Trainers can join the event-exclusive Timed Research as well, but it will cost them $1. The Timed Research challenges everyone to complete Field Research tasks to encounter more of the featured Pokémon of their choice, including:

  • Caterpie
  • Magikarp
  • Nosepass
  • Sableye
  • Barboach

Newbies should be aware that Timed Research expires. So, tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards claimed before a certain time. In the case of this upcoming event, Timed Research expires on June 3 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Besides buying a ticket for themselves, trainers can also buy and gift tickets to any of their friends in the game. The only condition is that trainers should have reached a friendship level of at least Great Friends with the other individual.

The Timed Research Ticket is available in the in-game shop from May 31 at 8:00 p.m. EDT to June 3 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Web Store

The new Pokémon GO Web Store is now live in certain regions. It offers trainers limited-time deals, web-exclusive bundles, and more. Trainers can log in to the web store through Pokémon GO credentials.

One of the things trainers can buy is PokéCoins. PokéCoin bundles bought through the web store also include additional value by providing extra PokéCoins with each bundle.

Pokémon GO is available on Google Play and App Store.
