Recently a rumor has spread about Sony expressing interest in acquiring rights to the Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania franchises from Konami. It was also said that Sony wants Kojima Productions to direct the new Silent Hill game. This all comes from a report on the website Jack of all Controllers, but it seems like the plan has been canceled. The rumor spread from a 4chan post which has now been deleted, but Jack of all Contollers' sources close to Sony and Konami say the two companies are ready to restart development on Silent Hills, the previously canceled reboot from Hideo Kojima.

The same rumor also mentions that Castlevania will get a reboot for the new PS5 in Sony's Japan studio, and that the new Castlevania will be influenced by a mixture of Bloodborne and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow’s vibes. If Konami agrees to the rumored offer from Sony then gamers can expect a full revival of games from Kojima Productions to help their next-generation consoles.

Hopefully, we will get more news soon and Konami will release their games for Kojima Productions to remake. If that happens, we can go back to the glory days of Silent Hill which we remember from 1999 when we played on the original PlayStation. If Kojima Productions keeps up their good pace, they will be able to bring the game to success.

So, what are your thoughts on the rumors of PlayStation planning on buying Metal Gear and Silent Hill from Konami? Are you excited by the potential there is for Kojima Productions to remaster the games? Personally, I think it’s a good idea for them to make the games as Konami has been quite stale for a while. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
