Blizzard Entertainment is stepping their Overwatch game up in its newest workshop that lets the imagination of players run wild.

It is not surprising that it’s a bit hard to maintain the popularity of the team-based multiplayer first-person shooting game Overwatch, especially with battle royal games like Fortnite; however, Blizzard Entertainment may have just found a solution that will put the game back in the spotlight.

Last month’s update brought the arrival of a new character: Baptiste, the combat medic. Continuing that momentum, the latest update was dropped a few days ago on April 24, and brought with it the Workshop that the Overwatch community has been going crazy about.

According to Blizzard, “The Workshop is a simplified game scripting system that expands the customization features available in the Game Browser.” You will be allowed to create a script of your own and add rules that can do many things like improve the hero's abilities and change how they work, create your own rules on damaging and healing players, or display subs in your own given condition.

If you weren’t really born creative or you just find it hard to create your own script, no problem, you can still enjoy the workshop by using the customizations of other players. There are already a lot of modes crafted by the Overwatch community that have been gaining popularity and you might want to give them a try.

YoshiShorts created killer emote mode, wherein you can damage players around you by simply hitting an emote. I personally think that this tweak is meme worthy. Test it out yourself by using the code 0V9FF.

MrMisquito made the game look like a Multiplayer Online Battle arena with his own mode, topdown Overwatch.

Xefoxmusic combined the gameplay of Overwatch and Smash Bros in his Smash-Bros-inspired game mode that is continuously improving through the help of other players’ suggestions in Reddit. The code is 2SQKT.

You can check out the whole introduction of the workshop on Overwatch’s official website. A detailed set of instructions are listed there and a few tips on how to tweak your own mode. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox one. What are you waiting for? Create your very own game mode or try some of the famous game modes made by other players.
