Ana in action in Overwatch Blizzard

Overwatch has just revealed Ana, the next hero character coming to the online shooter. Ana is a support sniper, who can both deal damage as well as heal her teammates. Along with the reveal, Blizzard has also given information on Ana’s backstory.

Ana, full name Ana Amari, is a 60 year old Egyptian woman and a founding member of Overwatch. She also happens to be the mother of Pharah and lost her eye due to an altercation with Widowmaker.

Ana’s playstyle is a mix between dealing damage and healing allies. Her main weapon is a Biotic Rifle, which shoots out darts that heal allies and damage enemies. She also has a sleep dart that can be shot out of a sidearm. Getting hit with the dart will knock a target unconscious, but the target will wake up after getting dealt any amount of damage.

Also included in Ana’s arsenal is a biotic grenade. Like the Biotic Rifle, the grenade can both heal allies and damage enemies. Ana’s ultimate is the Nano Boost, which is a dart shot at allies to make them move faster, deal more damage and take less damage from attacks.

You can start playing as Ana today on PC, if you play on the Test version of Overwatch. To access the test version, pull up the Battle.net client. Go to where you select your region/account and pick “PTR: Overwatch.” This should allow you to play as Ana as early as possible. There has been no word regarding when console players will be able to play with her as well.

So what do you think? Are you interested in playing as Ana? What other kinds of characters do you want to see added into Overwatch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
