If you’ve always been curious about Resident Evil Re:Verse, then now’s the time to learn more about it via its Open Beta Test. It’s available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players.

It started today April 8 at 2:00 a.m. EDT and ends April 11 at 2:00 a.m. EDT. To join this open beta, players need to have a Capcom ID.

On top of experiencing the game first-hand, fans will be treated to a special event a few days after the open beta ends. The Resident Evil Showcase is happening on April 15 at 6:00 p.m. EDT and it will reveal more about Resident Evil Village. The show is also giving more information about other Resident Evil titles.

Resident Evil RE:Verse is a six-player online multiplayer game releasing as part of Resident Evil Village. Re:Verse offers a third-person perspective and playable characters from the RE franchise. The gameplay is pretty straightforward where four to six players fight in a five-minute deathmatch and try to get the most points at the end of the match. Players can use weapons and items that are scattered across the map while each character comes with their set of skills.

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village, meanwhile, is a horror game that’s considered as the 10th title in the franchise and served as the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

That’s why in terms of story, it’s set just a few years after what happened in the previous game. The game sees the return of Ethan Winters who’s been living with his wife Mia. One day, however, Chris Redfield appears and, against his will, takes him to what looks like a mysterious European village.

The game was first unveiled during a PlayStation 5 event back in June 2020, and since then, a lot of updates have been released. For example, the PS5 version is expected to run dynamic 4K resolution with ray tracing. Then again, that’s a bit expected considering what next-gen consoles can offer.

Resident Evil Village is set to be released on May 7.
