The Nexus 5X has been available since Sept. 29, but the device has already received an official price cut from Google. The device, which launched at $379 for its 16GB model and for $429 for its 32GB model are now selling for $349 and 399, respectively.

There is no indication as to whether this will be a permanent price cut, but it could be possible, considering the Nexus 5X spent most of the holiday season discounted by $50 at the Google Store as well as at Amazon and Best Buy. Upon the launch of Nexus 5X, critics complained about the price of the Nexus 5X, in comparison to older affordable Nexus models, which sold in the $250 to $350 range. In 2014, Google launched only the Nexus 6 as a premium device, with a $649 price tag, which was also a source of contention for those who correlated pure Android with high spec’d but low cost devices. Now that the Nexus 5X enjoys another price cut, it's is more aligned with what many expect from the Nexus line.

Currently, the premium Nexus 6P continues to sell for its original price of $499 for its 32GB model, $549 for its 64GB model and $649 for its 128GB model. A price drop has yet to be announced.

The Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB internal storage options, a 12.3-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, a 2700mAh non-removable battery and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Nexus 5X will be available in Carbon black, Frost white and Ice blue color options.

The Nexus 5X sells unlocked and is compatible with U.S. and international bands, as well as Google's Project Fi network.
