The latest Overwatch comic, Uprising, shows how Tracer got her famous catchphrase Blizzard

The twelfth Overwatch comic, called Uprising, has been released, detailing the origins of Tracer. It also reveals how she got her signature catchphrase, surprisingly given to her by Torbjörn. The comic can be read on the Blizzard website, or in a fancy motion format with sound here.

In the comic, we see Jack Morrison, better known as Soldier: 76, with a burning London on his computer screen. It seems the Prime Minister doesn’t want Overwatch’s help dealing with the Omnic uprising. This puts Soldier: 76 in a bit of a bind, as it’s impossible for him to stand by and watch a city burn.

This means it’s time to call on Overwatch’s latest recruit, a young woman by the name of Lena Oxton, who has incredible speed and the ability to manipulate time. Oxton, better known as Tracer, impresses Soldier: 76 with her training, and is given the go-ahead to join the active duty squad.

The comic ends just as Tracer, Torbjörn, Mercy and Reinhardt fly off in a shuttle to London, despite what the Prime Minister has said.

If you want even more backstory on Tracer, you can see how her and the rest of the Overwatch crew celebrates Christmas in Reflections. The rest of the Overwatch comics can be found on the side tab by clicking “Issues.”

So what do you think? Do you want to see more of Tracer’s story? What other character would you like to see star in the next comic? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
