"The world is ready for a bulletproof black man," Executive Producer Cheo Hodari Coker exclaimed after the first scene from Luke Cage was previewed at Marvel’s panel in San Diego.

The trailer we’ve been waiting for since The Defenders was first announced is here. While there’s a lot of bullets fired… there’s none in the world that can penetrate the skin of Harlem’s new hero. Set to Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s 1995 summer jam, ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya,’ Luke Cage smashes walls and cracks necks, but he’s just getting started. Take a look:

Series star Mike Colter stopped by Marvel Live after their panel, and gave us a few interesting tidbits to get excited about. Most importantly, Colter got in a bit of trouble for revealing the exact moment within the series' 13 episodes where things start to heat up for Luke.

“Episode 4 is one of my favorite episodes because it answers so many question and gives you so much backstory,” Colter said.

Marvel VP Jeph Loeb didn’t seem too happy about Colter’s big mouth, but this just means there’s even higher expectations that knowing exactly when the first big moment lies still won’t ruin the buildup. Not to mention most comic fans know what to expect anyway.

Coker also revealed that when Luke Cage begins, he’ll be hiding in plain sight in Harlem still trying to decide if he’s worthy of being a hero.

“Luke Cage is a guy who doesn't want to solve problems with violence. He looks at his bulletproof skin, his impenetrable skin and his super strength allows him to have a voice, and not be afraid. There's a difference between using your powers to invoke something and manipulate a situation, versus giving yourself the space to speak,” Colter added.

However, Coker explains that Luke’s decision to protect the streets of Harlem could potentially change the dynamics of the entire community for the better.

"There's been this whole thing for years of no snitchin'. Snitches don't just get stitches [anymore], they get bullets. So what happens when you introduce a bulletproof black man into a situation? How does that affect how the cops deal with the situation? How does that affect how the criminals deal with the situation? How does that affect the community in terms of their view of what's happening, and whether or not they step up?” he told ComicBook.com .

Luke Cage premieres on Netflix September 30.
