New Leak Suggests Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Will Have Co-Op, Cross-Gen, Big Open World

The next entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise has been rumored to be Assassin's Creed Ragnarok. Lately, we've got a new leak that talks a lot about the game, and it sounds too real to ignore. It has also been claimed that the person who leaked the information on the game is connected with the Assassin Creed's development team. The game is said to be set in Viking era and is expected launch in September. Apparantly, the official reveal is rumored to take place during a PlayStation event in February.

Now let's talk about all the information we know about Assassin's Creed Ragnarok based on recent leaks:

  • The game is expected to launch on PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
  • Ragnarok features Ghost Recon Wildlands-like co-op gameplay
  • The protagonist is called "Jora" and players will be able to choose between male and female gender.
  • Ragnarok expands upon the RPG mechanics that we previously saw in Origins and Odyssey. It now includes different classes and skill tree changes based on class selection.
  • Combat has been upgraded. There are going to be more weapons and special abilities for weapon types/groups.
  • Weapons can be equipped with runes, can be upgraded and durability increased.
  • Weapon durability now has an effect on gameplay, forcing players to be smart in combat. A smaller inventory also demands for managing weapons efficiently.
  • Adrenaline mode has been replaced with a berserker modes, which activates special runes like fire, frost, or lightning damage.
  • Sailing is big part of the game, but it is less combat intensive and more exploration focused. Sailing now requires navigating through tight rivers and wetlands.
  • Parkour has been upgraded with new moves and climbing animations.
  • The hidden blade makes a return and players can have cosmetic customization for it. The hidden blade can also be upgraded to offer a one stab kill.
  • Stealth has been upgraded. Players can now hide in mud, snow, crouch in bushes, hide in bales of hay, etc. Hiding in crowds is possible, but only if your outfit/armor matches with the crowd.
  • The game has a reputation system that is based on quests players complete for people in cities, the town officials, the clothes worn, crimes committed, etc. Players will need to reach a certain reputation with kingdoms to pursue some quests and story missions.
  • There are conquest battles to capture settlements from templars. The battles can be approached in a variety of ways.
  • Players can find dynamic wars that occur between Kingdoms.
  • Players can capture multiple settlements through the game world and control them for trade and currency gains.
  • Large scale raids are part of the game.
  • Assassins are believed to have a connection with Odin and players will have a raven drone, which is dubbed Odin sight.
  • Difficulty in the game focuses on parry times, player health, and enemy reaction time, rather than enemy HP.
  • Player leveling system has been overhauled and is similar to Skyrim.
  • Some skills can only be unlocked upon reaching a high enough skillset level, some skills have to be bought with skills points, and others are automatically unlocked when progressing through the game.
  • The game features a massive map, covering Northern Europe. This includes big cities like York, London, Paris, and Kiev. Every kingdom is believed to be unique.
