A new update is set to be released in Neverwinter this June. Dubbed "Dragonslayer," this is the game’s 23rd module and puts players in the role of dragonslayers. Everyone gets the chance to enter epic lairs and go after chromatic dragons.

One of the features that players can look forward to is the Dragon Hunt system. This allows for new battles, lairs, challengers, and of course, rewards. The update is also introducing a dragon revamp to make them more epic than ever before.

Before we proceed, a spoiler alert for those who have yet to finish Dragonbone Vale.

New Story

After the events of Dragonbone Vale, the Shield of the North has managed to drive out Valindra Shadowmantle from Sword Coast. However, Valindra was able to cast a flawed version of the Scaleblight Mythal. This spell awakened dragons into what’s known as "dragonsight." It has twisted their motivations and drove them to a wild rage.

Because of this, the call has been made for the dragonslayers to hunt down these deadly dragons and save Sword Coast.

New System

The new Dragon Hunt system allows players to become one of Smeriduk Dragonbone’s mighty dragonslayers. This new system offers players the chance to fight different chromatic dragons, from ice White Dragons up to the cunning Black Dragons. Each dragon comes in different ages with each representing its own unique set of challenges for players to overcome. That said, there are new lairs to explore and new rewards to receive.

Other Changes

For dragons, they’re getting a complete revamp giving new attacks, spells, and even abilities. There are also changes to the Temple of Tiamat Trial, and this new version will have new mechanics and challenges, as well as the Normal and Master difficulty options.

In a statement, Neverwinter executive producer Brett Norton revealed that the upcoming module was developed for those who love the dragons of D&D. He added that they’re excited to see players take on the challenge of becoming a dragonslayer.

Neverwinter: Dragonslayer is launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
