NBA 2K20 confirmed details surrounding the MyTeam Unlimited $250,000 Tournament. For starters, the Qualifier game days have been finalized along with the actual date of the tournament.

The MyTEAM Unlimited Tournament is an annual global competition with players using the MyTEAM Unlimited mode on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of NBA 2K20. The tournament is pretty straightforward with players choosing any 13 player cards from their deck and participating in 5-on-5, head-to-head games with NBA rules. The first Qualifier GameDay already finished last October 12. The remaining days on the qualifiers are:

  • Second Qualifier GameDay: November 16, 2019
  • Third Qualifier GameDay: December 14, 2019
  • Fourth Qualifier GameDay: January 18, 2020

Once the qualifiers are finished, the single elimination tournament then begins on January 25. A total of 32 players, 16 per console, are expected to advance and compete in a single elimination tournament. The tournament has players on each console fight it out until only one player remains on each one. Each console champion gets the chance to visit the NBA All-Star 2020 game in Chicago and attend NBA All-Star game event. In addition, they play a head-to-head in a best-of-three series on Xbox One, with the winner getting the $250,000 grand prize.

Last year's tournament was won by Xbox One champion Dymaris "SkippTooMyLou" Jones, who beat PS4 champion Christopher "TurnUpDefense" Anderson. The two manage to attend the NBA All-Star 2019 game in Charlotte with SkippTooMyLou getting the grand prize. At least a million players participated in the inaugural tournament last year, with more than 15 million qualifying games being played over a five-month period.

Like with last year's tournament, Xbox One and PS4 contestants play games in MyTEAM Unlimited mode to earn entry into Qualifier GameDays. Ten Unlimited wins are needed in order to be part of each GameDay, and contestants may compete in multiple GameDays. During each GameDay, contestants then compete to win as many games as possible during the four-hour time limit, earning points towards their Total Score with each win. Contestants with the top four scores on each console at the end of each GameDay qualify for the single elimination tournament.
