A new update is coming to Monster Hunter Rise this February 7. Title Update 4 is set to introduce new monsters and one of them is a Risen elder dragon. There are also new Anomaly Research Quests and Event Quests.
Now, let's start with the new monsters, with one of them being the Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax, elder dragons that have managed to find a way to overcome their affliction. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they obtained great strength as well as new abilities, and by having an abundance of dragon energy, they have been granted greater agility and more devastating explosive powers. Watch out for their anger because when it reaches its peak, these elder dragons enter the Risen state and their body starts to glow.
The second new monster is the Velkhana. While few records of this monster exist, they're known as the "Iceborne Wyvern" or "Ice Dragons that Freezes All." Their ice breath is said to be so cold that it can result in massive ice walls. There are even those who say that it's strong enough to freeze other monsters.
Anomaly Research Quests
Get to encounter new challenges and earn rewards in Anomaly Research Quests which include:
- New monsters, including Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax.
- A8-Star quests.
- Anomaly Investigations up to Lv. 220.
- New features for Qurious Crafting including unlocked weapon crafting limits and new items at the Anomaly Research Lab.
Event Quests
These event quests are now live:
- Shadow in the Sandstorm
- Objective: Slay a Kushala Daora
- Locale: Sandy Plains
- Conditions: MR 6 or higher
- Rewards: Forge Layered Armor "Artian"
- Advanced: Carnival Carnage
- Objective: Hunt a Goss Harag
- Locale: Infernal Springs
- Conditions: MR 6 or higher
- Rewards: Crown-sized monsters

Monster Hunter Rise was released in March 2021 on Nintendo Switch, while the PC version was launched in January 2022.
