Capcom announced the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 2 release date, coming this September 29. Title Update 2 will bring a ton of new changes to the game, including new monster species and subspecies, Anomaly Research Quests, and Layered Weapons and Layered Weapon Designs. To celebrate the upcoming release, Capcom also unveiled a brand-new trailer, which you can check out below.

First up on the agenda for the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 2 are the new monsters:

  • Flaming Espinas – An Espinas subspecies with a slightly more muted body color. The boldness of the standard Espinas remains: run-of-the-mill attacks won't rouse Flaming Espinas from their slumber. Their breath attack contains a powerful poison and a dense acid that deteriorates armor. Take this attack head-on, and you won't stand a chance.
  • Violet Mizutsune – Violet Mizutsune are leviathans known for their beautiful lilac-colored fur. They use the fluid they secrete to slide around, targeting their prey with gas-filled bubbles. Though they appear as graceful creatures, the facade quickly fades as they envelop themselves in pale flames and bathe their surroundings in a beautiful, but deadly, inferno of white-hot flame.
  • Risen Chameleos – Risen Chameleos are elder dragons that have found a way to overcome their affliction. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they have gained great strength and new abilities. They now boast superior poison and physicality, sending you off into a toxic nightmare if you lose sight of them.

Besides monsters, new Anomaly Research Quests will also be introduced in the upcoming patch. A new A6 Star Anomaly Quest rank will be coming with Title Update 2, and Anomaly Investigations now go up to level 120. Layered Weapons will also be introduced in Title Update 2 of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and this free feature allows players to use almost all weapons as their weapon design for their main weapon. Capcom will also be making paid DLC for these Layered Weapon Designs, with one of them called the ”Lost Code” design for all 14 weapon types. Finally, this upcoming patch will introduce new Event Quests for players to enjoy every week.
