Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been teasing a new Battle Royale mode for a while now. The new mode is expected to drop next month. Several anonymous sources who work at the US development team told VGC that the new mode will be coming in March, assuming that there are no unforeseen delays.

After the massive Season 2 update was released, players saw a cinematic video where our fan-favorite character, Ghost, witnesses other players of the same side killing each other. The map shown in the video was massive and the outskirts were covered in some kind of gas. Four soldiers were also seen jumping off a dropship. If that is not a blatant tease for a battle royale mode then I don’t know what is. There is also an option in the main menu that is greyed out and marked as “CLASSIFIED”.

The new mode is apparently called “Warzone” and will be available to every Modern Warfare player for no extra cost. The Modern Warfare Battle Pass and progression will be shared, which means that any cosmetic you unlock in other game modes will be available in the Battle Royale mode as well. It is also rumored that the new mode will be available for free (like Apex Legends), however players will be able to upgrade to the full version if they want. As of now, we do not know what the difference between the Free and Paid version is.

VGC sources also claim that several North American YouTubers and Content Creators were invited to try out the new mode, which means more information about it could be coming in the next few days. We are interested to know how this Battle Royale mode will be different from the Black Ops 4 version.
