Modern Warfare is probably the most important IP for Activision, and boy are they utilizing it. Modern Warfare 2 fans will be happy to know that a remastered version of the game is a very real possibility now. Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was spotted on the listing of a Korean rating board called Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC),
It is interesting that the only the campaign version was spotted, we didn’t see anything regarding the multiplayer. This doesn’t mean that MP remaster will not come, as it's possible its rating was happening separately. However, if the remaster is only for the Campaign then that will surely piss off some fans. MW 2 multiplayer is arguably the best Call of Duty MP. Anyway, we are still excited to play the No Russian mission all over again. Here’s to hoping that it won’t cause the same controversy it did ten years ago.
The predecessor in the series, Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2007) was also completely remastered and released in 2017. The remaster consisted of a multiplayer mode with over ten multiplayer maps. The game was praised for its graphical improvement, however, some criticism was directed toward the introduction of loot boxes and expensive multiplayer DLCs that cost more than the price of the original game’s DLC. If a multiplayer remaster will also come for Modern Warfare 2, which is a big If, we really hope that it won’t have anti-consumer practices like its predecessor.
It seems like a matter of time for Activision to officially confirm the game's existence. While you wait for the remaster, there are still tons of Call of Duty to play with. The latest COD game (also called Modern Warfare) reinvented the franchise with a more brutal and realistic representation of war. They also released a Battle Royale mode called Warzone which is free for everyone. Warzone is such a hit in the community that it surpassed 30 million players in only ten days. The game also has a solo mode so you don’t have to wait around for your squad to come online. You can simply hop in and enjoy it by yourself.
