We have another MLB The Show 17 patch to report. This time, MLB The Show 17 1.09 update is to fix a major mistake from the previous patch Sony released.
Patch 1.09 addressed problems that primarily existed in online play of MLB The Show 17. Patch 1.08 appeared to add a stutter to the pitcher’s pitching motion. That “addition” created instances where players were not able to control the pitching meter or the pulse pitching meter, which led to pitches right down the middle for batters to tee off on.
This change was important enough for Victor_SDS of Sony’s San Diego Studios to comment on what the change does to fix this issue.
Hey folks. I just wanted to drop a quick note and clarify the "slow mo" pitching in online player vs player modes.
Patch 1.08 introduced an unintentional stutter in the delivery of the ball from the pitcher. As a way to "smooth" out that stutter, we made a change in today's patch (1.09) that will make it seem like the pitch is moving slower from the defensive side only. The pitch integrity still remains the same, and from the offensive view, everything displays at the correct speed.
This change will not affect throwing out a player stealing a base.
It is refreshing to see Sony is on top of the issues that MLB The Show 17 face. The game has been on the market since March, but Sony is still constantly finding bugs within the game. It will be interesting to see how long Sony will continue to release patches. With this being Patch 1.09, we hope MLB The Show will continue to receive post-release support.
