Can you save the islands? Studio Fizbin

The long wait is over as Studio Fizbin’s Minute of Islands is now live. Ever since the game was announced back in 2019, it has earned quite a following mainly due to its captivating storyline and unique visuals.

The game was initially announced to be released on March 18. However, it was postponed and Studio Fizbin Game Director Anjin Anhut revealed that the delay was to ensure players would enjoy the game in the best possible condition. This was confirmed by Mixtvision Publishing Director Benjamin Feld who added that the additional time was in the interest of the players.

The Machines are Failing

Minute of Islands puts players on an archipelago described as both beautiful and strange. The region has been polluted by dangerous spores and the only thing keeping the island and people safe are ancient antennas that have been built by giants. But these ancient machines have started to fail.

Wanting to protect her family and friends, the young engineer Mo goes on a journey to repair the machines using her highly versatile Omni Switch tool and save the islands. During her quest, she discovers that not all is as it seems and the damage may actually be worse.

Excellent Visuals

As mentioned, one of the reasons why the game has earned loyal fans is its bold art style. This is because each of the frames is handcrafted individually by a team of artists and illustrators. Indeed, each island has been drawn and filled with details that invite players to explore them. This rather illustrative style is then combined with a good narrative and atmospheric soundtrack. Thus, players can experience a world that feels alive as well as abandoned.

Features of the game include:

  • Use the Omni Switch to solve environmental puzzles and take back control of the machines.
  • Unravel a story of self-exploration narrated beautifully by actress Megan Gay.
  • Get to explore a rich world across different unique islands. Meet its inhabitants while learning more about the dark truths that lie below the surface.
  • Enjoy hand-crafted comic-style visuals while listening to an atmospheric soundtrack.

Minute of Islands is priced at $19.99 and available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is also compatible with next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
