Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is getting a brand new skin pack this week, that will be available as a free download through this weekend, to celebrate the four-year anniversary of Mojang’s beloved sandbox game. Just don’t go expecting anything too impressive.

Skins have been a big part of the Minecraft community for several years now. In fact, while the feature was originally exclusive to the PC version of the game, Microsoft and Mojang have been making a killing in recent years, signing deals with a variety of developers, publishers and console manufacturers to create skins and mash-up content based on other popular video game IP. We’ve seen Star Wars skin packs, Mass Effect mash-up packs . Just this week, Microsoft and Nintendo announced plans to release a Super Mario World mash-up pack for Minecraft: Wii U Edition later this month . Unfortunately, the new content being released this week isn’t anywhere as complex or exciting as those past releases. But it does give players a handful of new wardrobe choices.

Beginning on Monday, and continuing through the end of the week, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition players can download the game’s latest birthday skin pack from Xbox Live for free. This year’s celebratory skinpack includes a handful of creature-themed t-shirts for Steve and Alex to wear, including creep shirts, duck shirts and several more. Mojang says the birthday skinpacks from previous years will also be available for download, giving the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition community access to several other costumes as well.

There’s no word on exactly when the promotional period will end. While the end of week could mean Friday or Sunday, or even next Tuesday, we’d suggest dropping by the Minecraft Store and downloading the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition birthday skinpack as soon as possible. That way you don’t have to worry about it disappearing before you get a chance to add more skins to your collection.
