A new content update for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available and it focuses on the majestic Nordic region. Marvel at the beautiful landscapes of Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.

While the pandemic has prevented people from traveling for leisure, you can see some of the most majestic places in the Nordics right at the comfort of your home with the World Update V: Nordics.

Coming in Update 1.17.3.0, it includes enhanced regional architecture, improved swaths of landscapes, and added refined data for 77 carefully selected points of interest.

Five bush trips have been introduced for each of the Nordic countries, showing off some of the very best places in these territories.

This is a free update and you can download it via Steam or Microsoft Store.

Here are some of the highlights of the update:

WORLD
  • Updated watermasks of various locations
  • Updated aerial imagery in parts of the Nordic countries
  • Updated elevation data for Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland
NAVIGATION
  • Fixed an issue that prevented users from requesting fuel trucks on airports with fuel pumps but without ground equipment parking
  • Implemented New AIRAC cycle 2106

Steam users can simply fire up the client and the update should download automatically. Keep in mind that players need to download two updates: One from the Steam client and another one from the game’s Marketplace.

Remember that some packages in the community folder may not have been updated, which may result in unexpected behavior in the game’s performance. If this happens, simply move your community packages to another folder and then relaunch the game.
