The first-person survival horror Lust from Beyond: M Edition is coming to PC on February 10. This game is inspired by the works of horror icons like H.P. Lovecraft, H.R. Giger, and Zdzislaw Beksinski.

For those not familiar with Lust from Beyond, it's a game that offers an adult-only experience. The M Edition however makes some changes to make it playable by a wider audience. The "M" in the title not only stands for "Mature" but also for the various motifs in the game like Madness, Masks, and Mystery.

As we've mentioned, the game is inspired by the works of celebrated horror icons, so expect to be blown out of your mind. The game puts players in the role of one Victor Holloway. Victor is an antiquarian or a person who studies or collects antiques or antiquities. He's being tormented with the vision of a rather sinister land, one where there is no difference between pleasure and pain. To know more about his dreams, he joins the Cult of Ecstasy.

With this, everyone gets to experience the life of a cultist from the inside and become lost in its blasphemous customs. Just be careful since the journey takes players to Lusst'ghaa.

While the original does have NSFW parts, the M Edition makes these changes:

  • Nudity has been covered by outfits appropriate to the themes and setting.
  • Some scenes have been rearranged to keep their meaning but reduce the explicit factor.
  • Some animations, scene framing, and models have been changed to meet the Mature rating requirements.

Other features of this version are:

  • The focus is more on the story and gameplay with less shocking content.
  • The story is told from a cult member’s perspective.
  • Players can run, hide, sneak or fight using survival horror mechanics.
  • Offers meaningful choices and elements of RPG-like progression.
  • Mind-bending puzzles to test the player’s wits.
  • Sound recorded on-location in derelict period buildings.
