'Logan' Final Trailer: Only A Quarter Of The X-Men Comics Actually Happened

The final trailer for Logan contains several surprises.

Despite taking inspiration from the post-apocalyptic comic series Old Man Logan, the movie Logan doesn’t seem to be post-apocalyptic. The final Logan trailer opens with X-23 (Dafne Keen) stealing snacks from a gas station. No matter what has happened to mutants, it seems global capitalism continues to thrive.

And, speaking of X-23, Logan has X-23. This shouldn’t really be a surprise for anyone who’s been paying attention, but unlike previous trailers the final Logan trailer is absolutely loaded with the young Wolverine clone-daughter (unclear if she’ll be related to Wolverine in Logan, but it seems likely) snikt snikt-ing out her two bone claws and going to town on paramilitary goons. Wahoo.

But the strangest revelation of all may be the X-Men comics, which exist in the X-Men cinematic universe. According to Logan “maybe a quarter of it happened… and not like this.”

There’s also this nifty new red band trailer:

I didn't detect any more violence, but the new international red band trailer for Logan adds Hugh Jackman muttering “Holy Fuck,” which is nice. Other than that, there’s not much difference between the two. Oh, Professor X says “fucking,” ha. Everyone wanted this adult, R-rated X-Men movie so bad. Well, Patrick Stewart is doing his best to oblige you.

Logan is out in theaters March 3.
