League of Legends Update 12.9 is finally here, and this brings multiple changes to Olaf. Olaf has been struggling quite a bit in solo queue and has a very low pick rate too. So, developers made some changes to bring him back to the meta.

Olaf

Olaf’s base stats have received nice boosts to help him stay consistent throughout the game. His AD growth has increased from 3.5 AD per level to 4.7 AD per level, which should result in 148 AD at level 18 without items. Olaf’s health growth has increased from 100 to 105 per level, which might not sound great, but with items like Death’s Dance and Goredrinker, that should make Olaf tankier.

Q- Undertow

Olaf’s Undertow now deals less damage in earlier levels but will have the same damage at max rank. The cooldown has been reduced to seven seconds from nine seconds, and mana cost dropped from 60 at all ranks to 40/45/50/55/60, a great help in the early game.

Undertow also shreds 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% armor for four seconds after hitting the champion. This should scare those tough enemies.

W - Tough It Out

Olaf’s Tough It Out cooldown has been reduced from 16 seconds at all ranks to 16/14.5/13/11.5/10 seconds, and its attack speed reduced from 50/60/70/80/90% to 40/50/60/70/80%. This might seem like a nerf, but upon activation, Olaf gets a shield for 2.5 seconds, which can get him out of dangerous situations.

R - Ragnarok

Olaf’s Ultimate, Ragnarok, makes him immune to all crowd controls, which is powerful against drafts with a lot of crowd control. However, the developers reduced the bonus AD while in Ragnarok to 10/20/30 (+25% AD) from 15/20/25 (+30% AD). As a trade, Olaf can now extend his Ragnarok's duration by just auto-attacking or using Reckless Swing (E) on his opponents. So, make sure to burst him down fast, and hold your crowd control abilities or everything will go to waste.

These changes will not only help him in the jungle but also in solo lanes. So, don’t underestimate him this time if you are going all in.
