Patch 12.20 for League of Legends recently made its way into the live server. This time, developer Riot Games nerfed three champions that belong to the top lane. Here, we will cover the changes made for Aatrox and Sett by this update.

Aatrox

Aatrox is one of the best blind picks in the top lane that can destroy almost any matchup. Both his Eclipse and Goredrinker builds make him incredibly strong while having good sustain, thanks to his passive which heals him 100% of post-mitigation damage. So, Riot nerfed his passive to reduce his healing by a notch.

Deathbringer Stance (Passive)

  • Heal: From 100% of post-mitigation damage to 80% of post-mitigation damage

While this change will reduce the overall sustain in his kit, he can still fight well if he manages to land all his skill shots. This nerf, however, might benefit enemies building anti-healing items, which could help them burst him down quickly.

Sett

Sett is capable of dominating the top lane. However, players find him more useful in the mid lane because of his stats and versatile kit. He can engage, escape, and soak damage be it 1v1 or team fight. So, Riot nerfed his potential in the mid lane without influencing his potential in the top lane.

Base Stats

  • Magic Resist: From 32 to 28

The reduction on his magic resist makes him a bit weaker against mages, and this will slightly affect his laning on the top side. Besides AP tanks, many AP champions are also playable on the top lane.

Pit Grit (Passive)

  • Health Regeneration per 5% of Missing Health: From 0.25/0.5/1/2 to 0.15/0.5/1/2

  • Right Punch AD Ratio: From 50% bonus AD to 55% bonus AD

Riot buffed his right punch AD ratio by 5%, which should help him out during fights. The health regeneration for missing health is reduced on the first rank from 0.25 to 0.15, toning down his sustain in the early game.
